You know how to brew healing potions and poisons. You may spend several hours and make an Alchemy skill check (dc 10) to make a potion that either heals a target or deals damage for d8+Spell Power damage.

For every 5 you beat the base dc by you may increase the number of dice the potion heals or deals by 1.

Potions require the purchasing of herbs, chemicals, and some sort of alchemical equipment to be made. It costs roughly 5 copper in materials to brew a 1 die potion, 15 copper for a 2 die, 35 copper for a 3 die, 75 copper for a 4 die, etc (doubling the increase in material cost for each additional die).

Alternatively, if you have potion materials already gathered, you may create potions and poisons using them.

Some cities may not be large enough to supply the rare materials needed to construct larger potions, in which case the upper limit to how powerful a potion or poison you can make is determined by your location.

Poisons can either be ingested or applied to a weapon.

When ingested, make an Alchemy Skill Check that targets Tough Defense. If you miss the target still takes half damage. If you hit, the target takes full damage and may suffer Persistent Damage.

Higher than Resistance	Target suffers 2 dice + your spell power of Persistent Unsoakable Poison Damage until they succeed at a Tough Resistance check against your Alchemy DC at the end of their turn.
Equal to Resistance	Target suffers 1 die + half your spell power of Persistent Unsoakable Poison Damage until they succeed at a Tough Resistance Check against your Alchemy DC at the end of their turn.
Lower than Resistance	Target suffers half your spell power of Persistent Unsoakable Poison Damage until they succeed at a Tough Resistance Check against your Alchemy DC at the end of their turn.

When applied to a weapon, the next time that weapon deals damage within a medium duration, the target may suffer Persistent Damage, using the same chart.

During your daily preparations, you may make a number of shoddy 1 die potions or poisons that expire at the end of a long duration equal to your Focus Bonus.
